About SeaTrees

Seatrees is a nonprofit organization that restores and protects coastal ecosystems around the world to reverse climate change, enhance biodiversity, and support local communities. We use a science-based approach to regenerate coral reefs, kelp forests, mangrove forests, seagrass meadows, and coastal watersheds. Our projects support local community restoration efforts and provide tangible ways for individuals and brands to create a more resilient planet for future generations.

Why Coral Reefs?

About half of the world’s coral reefs have been lost in the last 30 years. More than 60% of the remaining reefs are threatened by human activity, with Indonesia being one of the largest areas of vulnerability.

Geographic Impact
Working with SeaTrees, we are contributing to coral restoration projects in three key locations that help preserve ocean biodiversity: Costa Rica, Bali and Fiji.

The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots nonprofit organization committed to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches for all people. Since 1984, Surfrider has built a powerful network of volunteers, advocates, and local chapters across the U.S. and beyond, working to preserve the natural beauty and health of our coasts. The San Diego County chapter is a community of everyday people who passionately protect ocean access for all.

Their work spans five key areas:
• Clean Water – Reducing ocean pollution through water quality testing, infrastructure advocacy, and pushing for stronger environmental protections.
• Coastal Preservation – Fighting back against harmful development and erosion to safeguard the natural integrity of shorelines and protect public beach access.
• Ocean Protection – Defending marine ecosystems and wildlife from offshore drilling, destructive fishing, and other threats.
• Plastic Pollution – Tackling single-use plastic at the source through community action and policy change, including campaigns to ban plastic bags, foam containers, and cigarette filters.
• Beach Access – Ensuring that coastlines remain open and accessible to all, not just a privileged few.

Surfrider’s approach is both local and systemic; they empower coastal communities to lead change, while influencing policy and legislation at the state and federal levels.
